Shikhar Dhawan tells an interesting story about his tattoo: "I went and got an HIV test, and it came back negative."

In a recent interview, veteran Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan talked about an interesting part of his personal life. He will be leading the Punjab Kings in the next season of the Indian Premier League. The southpaw, who has several tattoos, said he got an HIV test because he was afraid of the needle used for one of them.

The Indian batting star said that his family didn’t like his tattoos, and when his father found out about them, he beat him. Dhawan said that he was afraid of the needle that was used to make one of his tattoos. This made him get an HIV test, which was negative.

“When I was 14 or 15 years old, I went to Manali without telling my family and got a tattoo on my back. I had to keep it a secret for about three or four months, and when my father found out, he beat me. I was a little scared after I got the tattoo because I didn’t know how many people that needle had gone through. So I went and got an HIV test, which came back negative (laughs),” Dhawan said on the Aaj Tak show “Seedhi Baat.”
