In the first Test match between Bangladesh and Pakistan at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, captain Najmul Hossain Shanto gave Shakib Al Hasan praise for maintaining concentration. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) got an official notification to withdraw the all-round player from the national team after he was recently implicated in a murder case. Shakib faced harsh criticism for his affiliation with the Awami League Party, but he remained composed and contributed significantly to Bangladesh’s 10-wicket victory over Pakistan.
Shakib performed well, taking three wickets in the second innings when Bangladesh needed to quickly secure a victory.
Pakistan was dismissed for 146 runs, with Mehindy Hasan Miraz claiming four wickets. Bangladesh completed the 30-run target in 6.3 overs despite only being given one. Following the match, Shanto praised Shakib for both his outstanding performance and his willingness to share his bowling insights. The seasoned all-rounder is expected to play even better in the upcoming match, which is scheduled to start on August 30.
“He is a committed individual. He goes above and beyond to ensure the team’s victory. He’s really good at putting his personal life on hold in order to concentrate on cricket. He is capable of supporting juniors and the team. Even though he was in a difficult situation, he should be commended for his performance and contributions, particularly in bowling. During the post-match presentation ceremony, Shanto stated, “We anticipate him to do much better in the upcoming game.
Recent political unrest in Bangladesh resulted in the overthrow of the government. Speaking about the hundreds of lives lost during the demonstration, Shanto expressed his hope that everyone’s smiles will return after the victory.

“The past month has not been easy. Even if there are still issues, people in Bangladesh help one another out. I’m hoping they’ll be happy for this victory. We will try to keep playing like this even in the upcoming game, which is why we are so thrilled,” Shanto continued.
