In Bangladesh’s current T20 World Cup 2024, Shakib Al Hasan has had a terrible opening two matches. But in the game’s shortest format, one or two innings could go wrong, according to captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, who backed the iconic all-rounder.
On Thursday, June 13, at Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown, Bangladesh is scheduled to play a very important match against the Netherlands. With two points from as many games, both sides are vying for a position in the Super Eight round of the main tournament. Prior to being defeated by South Africa, Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka in their opening match of the competition. The seasoned Shakib’s form has been a key cause for concern, despite the Bangla Tigers displaying guts and desire in both games.
The 37-year-old’s scores against South Africa and Sri Lanka are 3 and 8, respectively. Despite the spin-friendly circumstances in both games, he has only bowled four overs without taking a wicket. Shakib has only amassed 97 runs and claimed six wickets in his last eight Twenty20 Internationals. Shanto expressed optimism that the veteran would do well against the Dutch team, saying that he is putting in a lot of effort in the nets.

Knowing how much more he expects than what the public expects is crucial. He is working hard and making every effort. I wouldn’t say he’ll return. Already, he is in fantastic health. At the pre-game press conference, Shanto stated, “I hope he will deliver well tomorrow.”
In terms of his eyes, Shakib is doing just great, the southpaw made it clear. Shanto added that because the former captain of Bangladesh has a lot of experience, he isn’t feeling any pressure.
“In this structure, one or two bad innings can happen very easily. As a captain, I don’t feel under any pressure. I am also aware that he does not experience any pressure. Shanto continued, “I believe he will make a strong return because of his wealth of expertise.
