Following their recent losses in international competitions, the Bangladesh cricket team has faced a great deal of criticism. They came in eighth in the ODI World Cup 2023 and did not make it to the playoffs of the T20 World Cup in 2021 or 2022. Though captain Shakib Al Hasan is certain the side will perform well in the comfortable conditions of the West Indies and USA, the T20 World Cup is set to begin on June 1.
According to the seasoned all-round player, the team is in rhythm and has been performing well in T20I cricket recently. Bangladesh, who have drawn the T20I series in New Zealand without Shakib, is hoping for a strong performance from the team in the next major competition.
Shakib Al Hasan was born in Magura.
“The United States and the West Indies will host the tournament.” The pitch will work well for our brand of cricket. We thus stand a strong chance. Over the past year, we have been playing T20s pretty well. Both the team’s balance and rhythm are excellent. Everybody is performing admirably. In New Zealand, the team performed admirably as well. Naturally, The Daily Star cited Shakib as stating, “We have high expectations.”
Shakib Al Hasan has also been victorious in the general election of Bangladesh, securing the seat of Magura. Shortly after the ODI World Cup ended, he became a member of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina‘s Awami League Party and began campaigning. Shakib Al Hasan has been working out to get back in shape now that the election process is complete in preparation for his January 19 return in the Bangladesh Premier League to follow.
In the competition, Rangpur Riders will be represented by a talented all-round player. Shakib, who was a player for Barishal in the previous edition, amassed 375 runs at bat and claimed 10 wickets at an economy rate of 6.31.
