The announcement of his appointment as the mentor of the Kolkata Knight Riders came to light just hours after he had retired. Prior to declaring his IPL retirement, the all-rounder served as the bowling coach for CSK.

Gautam Gambhir will be replaced by Bravo as the Purple Camp mentor.
