The Pakistan cricket team’s journey through the current major cricket carnival, the T20 World Cup 2024, has been anything but smooth thus far. It looked unlikely that they would make it to the Super Eight stage after losing their first two games against the USA and India.
Pakistani supporters are being urged to come support the squad during these tough times by pace leader Shaheen Afridi, who has made a passionate request to them amid this disappointing run. Afridi continued in same vein, expressing his dissatisfaction with certain fans’ lack of support throughout the team’s hardships. He said that those who do not agree with the side in these circumstances are just like other media sources.
“In good times, everyone helps you, but in bad times, I’ve always said that supporters have to help us. As a cricket squad, we are not gullies. This is also your team for Pakistan. In an interview on the Crickwick YouTube channel, he stated, “If you can’t support us during these times, you’re just like the media.”
I used to bowl at 136–140 kph all the time. Shaheen Afridi
Pakistan, who were drawn into the challenging Group A with the USA, India, Canada, and Ireland, are in a vulnerable position. Their net run rate of +0.191 keeps them behind in third place with just two points, even though they secured a much-needed victory against Canada.
The Green Shirts’ final group game against Ireland on Sunday has turned into a source of pride because the USA and India have already advanced to the next round. Furthermore, the diminutive left-arm pacer has only claimed two wickets at an economy rate of 6.91 in the three matches that have been played. The 24-year-old, whose recent performances have drawn criticism, vehemently defended them.

I’ve always been a bowler, and I still bowl at a pace of 136 to 140 kph. Everyone talks nicely when a bowler takes wickets, but when he doesn’t, all the bad things are said,” Afridi stated in closing.
