Bollywood actor and Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner Shah Rukh Khan couldn’t contain his adoration for former India and RCB captain Virat Kohli. He revealed the depth of his long-standing bond with the famed batter by referring to him as Bollywood’s “Daamad” (son-in-law).
Shahrukh revealed that he has known Virat Kohli for a long time and that he is very dear to him. He said that he had known Kohli and Anushka Sharma for a very long time and that they had spent a lot of time together, even when Kohli was still dating. Beyond only expressing his love, King Khan also shared a funny anecdote about teaching Kohli the distinctive dance to the title song of his next film, Pathaan.
“I simply adore him; we spent a lot of time together. He is referred to as our “Daamad” and our son-in-law. Among the players, I have known him the longest. I have spent a great deal of time with Virat and Anushka throughout the years. I had known him when we were dating and I was filming the movie with Anushka. He thus spent several days with us and warmed up quickly,” Khan said to Star Sports.

I showed him how to dance to the title song from the Pathan movie. I witnessed him during an India match, where he attempted to perform a dance alongside Ravindra Jadeja. They were attempting the dance step, and I found it quite disappointing how poorly they were performing it! Khan advised them to let me teach them the dance moves so that when they danced at the next World Cup and other championships, they would at least call me to ask how to execute the moves.
In the IPL 2024 points standings, the Kolkata Knight Riders are ranked second.
This iconic exchange between Virat Kohli and Shahrukh Khan began during the KKR-RCB match from the previous season, when they were seen on camera trying out the well-known move.
Despite King Khan’s frequent attendance at KKR games this IPL season, his club is comfortably ranked second in the IPL 2024 standings. Kohli’s RCB, on the other hand, has struggled this season, finishing last in the table with only three victories in ten games.
