The Pakistani team management was so concerned about Shadab Khan‘s form that they actually thought about benching him. Nonetheless, he has discovered his creative flow once more in the current Lanka Premier League (LPL). He is the tournament’s top wicket-taker, having claimed 16 in seven games, including a hat-trick against Kandy Falcons.
Shadab Khan addressed his concerns with the form, saying that while he was relieved to be back on his feet, he acknowledged that situations like this may occur. Even during tough circumstances, the all-around player
continued to follow the procedure and produced the desired outcome in the LPL. He continued by saying that while the surface in Sri Lanka was helpful, he attempted a couple variants on flat surfaces and they also worked.
“I had three months of hardships. For the past seven international matches, I had failed to claim a wicket. I started bowling here after I arrived, and I now consistently take wickets. Cricket’s beauty lies in that. These kinds of situations must also be enjoyable for you; sometimes you succeed, sometimes you fail. However, the procedure you adhere to must be constant, Shadab stated, citing an LPL press statement.
The pitch helped us because it was a little sluggish and rather gripping. However, since 200 is so readily changed, T20 cricket is incredibly difficult these days. You need to have variations as a spinner because, on flat tracks, you can go on runs without them. However, you may contain runs as well as take wickets if you have variation. Thus, that is crucial, and it’s also crucial that you land it in a favourable spot,” he continued.
Colombo Strikers led by Shadab have performed well and earned a spot in the LPL playoffs. Shadab intends to improve on his lacklustre performance with the bat in the final stages of the competition.
