Colombo, July 14, 2023: The Colombo Strikers have signed Imam-ul-Haq as their opening batsman for the forthcoming Lanka Premier League campaign. The Pakistani cricketer has taken the place of Lorcan Tucker, an Irish wicketkeeper-batsman for the Colombo Strikers team.
Imam-ul-Haq has so far amassed 2143 runs in 78 T20 matches. The top-order batsman has 20 half-centuries in Twenty20 matches. Imam-ul-Haq expressed his excitement to join the Colombo Strikers, saying, “The Colombo Strikers have a terrific team and I am happy to join the side. I’m definitely looking forward to playing with so many amazing guys and having a fantastic time.”
Imam is a highly talented cricketer, and Babar Azam, the legendary player for the Colombo Strikers, welcomed him to the team. His joining our team gives us a tremendous advantage. He will also get the opportunity to teach our team’s younger members.
Sagar Khanna, the franchise’s owner, added, “Imam is a very seasoned cricketer, and we are thrilled to have him on our team. He will provide consistency for the team and anchor our innings. I really hope he enjoys himself with the Colombo Strikers.”
The Colombo Strikers will play the Jaffna Kings in their opening LPL game on July 30, 2023, in Colombo.
