Day 2 of the ongoing second Test between the two teams saw more of Pakistan’s woes on the pitch when Saud Shakeel failed to make an easy catch against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi.
It is noteworthy because Pakistan scored 274 runs in the first innings while batting first, and Shakeel had the opportunity to give his team an early lead when Bangladesh took the pitch. Shadman Islam, the opener for Bangladesh, edged Mir Hamza’s opening delivery of the innings to sixth slip.
Saud Shakeel, though, was unable to grab the opportunity.
Commentators were quick to point out that it was a legitimate catch, and match umpire Richard Kettleborough’s response went viral as well.
