The Irani Cup is being played at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium (BRSABV) in Lucknow between Mumbai and the rest of India. The match has already included some outstanding performances.
On day two, young Sarfaraz Khan, who had resumed batting after reaching an undefeated half-century the day before, turned his innings into a century.
Mumbai is in a great position thanks to Sarfaraz’s 15th first-class century, which follows Ajinkya Rahane’s batting exploits. Sarfaraz accomplished the feat in the 92nd over of the first innings by displaying resiliency and playing brilliantly under duress.

Ajinkya Rahane is trapped in the anxious 1990s
The match’s first day belonged to the seasoned Rahane, who was outstanding for his team. Rahane returned unscathed at 86 on the opening day, but he was unable to reach the triple digits as Mumbai’s top order disintegrated with Prithvi Shaw and Ayush Mhatre out for four and nineteen, respectively, and Hardik Tamore out for a three-ball duck. Rahane was removed at 97 off 234 balls.
On the first day, Rahane and Sarfaraz both reached their half-centuries, which enabled Mumbai to end the match with 237 runs after losing four wickets.
