Sarfaraz Ahmed should double his efforts or make way for a younger individual. Moin Khan

After the Quetta Gladiators were eliminated from the present Pakistan Super League, head coach Moin Khan criticized captain Sarfaraz Ahmed and explained why wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan is superior.

The former cricketer continued his criticism by stating that the 35-year-old hasn’t proven himself in the shortest format of the game in the last two years, and if he can’t double his efforts, he should give up his position to a younger player. Moin also disclosed that the franchise made a colossal error by releasing South African star Rilee Rossouw, who has been in outstanding form throughout the current competition.

Throughout the past two years, Sarfaraz has struggled in T20. To earn a berth on the national squad, you must perform better than your competitors. Rizwan labored diligently and is now experiencing the benefits of his efforts. Rizwan is an intelligent individual who always ranks highly in ICC rankings. If you have such an opponent, you should double your efforts or make way for a younger individual.
By releasing Rilee Rossouw, Quetta Gladiators made an error. I regret that because I have a very high opinion of him in T20,” Moin stated, as published by Cricket Pakistan.

Moin disclosed the cause for Azam Khan’s release.
The head coach also explained why Azam Khan was released prior to the seventh edition. He added that the youngster did not receive sufficient opportunities due to the presence of Sarfaraz, therefore they were forced to make the difficult decision to release him.

“Similarly, Azam Khan had to be released. It was for the benefit of his career, as we already had Sarfaraz as wicketkeeper and he was not obtaining a berth on the team.
Remarkably, the Gladiators concluded their season with only three victories and seven losses. The Gladiators are currently second-last in the points chart, but if Karachi Kings defeat Lahore Qalandars in their final match, they would finish at the bottom of the standings.
