After winning three of their first four games in the IPL 2023, the Rajasthan Royals were thought to be one of the best teams. However, the Sanju Samson-led team only managed to win four of the following ten games; as a result, they are currently fifth in the IPL points standings. To get into the playoffs, they need a lot of things to go their way. For example, the Mumbai Indians must lose at Wankhede Stadium to Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Gujarat Titans must beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by more than five runs.
While talking about how they have done in the game so far, the skipper said that he is shocked by where RR is on the points table right now. The 2008 winners were thought to be one of the favorites to win this year, but their path to the playoffs got tangled up, and now their chances rely on how other teams do in the league.
Sanju Samson said in the address after the game, “We have a good team, and it’s a little shocking to see where we are on the table.”

Notably, if the team had won the match within 18.3 overs, they would have had a better NRR than RCB and could have moved up to fourth on the points table, but that didn’t happen.
Sanju Samson said that when Shimron Hetmyer was batting in the middle, he expected the West Indies star to get the job done, but that didn’t happen either. The 28-year-old also talked quickly after the game about Trent Boult’s ability to get a wicket in the first over of an innings.
“I think at the end of the game, when Shimron Hetmyer was playing well, we thought we’d win by 18.5″ We think that Boult will take a wicket in the first over almost 90% of the time. In the last few games, we were under a lot of pressure,” Samson said.
