Regarding Sanju Samson’s batting in the current IPL season, former Australian cricketer Matthew Hayden offered his opinions. With 471 runs in 11 innings at a respectable average of 67.28 and a strike rate of over 160, the Rajasthan Royals captain has been in excellent form since the beginning of the IPL and is presently the third-highest run scorer. Samson has maintained his form this year, with five scores over 50 so far, in contrast to prior seasons when he would start the league promisingly before losing his touch.
The Indian selectors chose Samson over KL Rahul, who was considered the top pick, to be one of the wicketkeepers in the team for the T20 World Cup alongside Rishabh Pant. In his team’s most recent match against the Delhi Capitals on May 7, Samson’s bat did the talking. However, his innings were cut short at 86 off 46 following a controversial catch by Shai Hope on the boundary line, which ultimately led to a collapse that resulted in the Royals losing the match by 20 runs.
With 86 runs off of 46 balls, Sanju Samson was hitting like a pro. He has consistently demonstrated his value to his squad by winning games, like he did against LSG. He’ll be saddened, though, if he can’t lead Rajasthan to victory. He’s been an absolute firecracker this tournament, deftly controlling pace and spin. He does a good job timing his innings. He has the power. And in Twenty20 cricket, power is important. His dedication to his squad, though, is what really sticks out. On Star Sports Cricket Live, Hayden stated, “He just needed a little bit of luck, especially towards the end of the match.”
Varun Aaron, a former cricket player for India, also discussed Sanju Samson’s batting. Sanju Samson has, in my opinion, been hitting incredibly well.
Despite having two bouncers available for every over in this IPL, bowlers appear eager to get rid of him.
Interestingly, Khaleel Ahmed bowled him the first bouncer of the match in the over in which he was out. It appeared that this had upset his gait because he was removed after a wide, slow ball that he usually hits for six overcovers. Bowlers must bowl with aggression even when under duress since batters tend to ignore bouncers and concentrate on deliveries in specific areas. As we saw today, sending up a bouncer might cause them to misjudge their footwork and even result in a wicket.
Kuldeep Yadav was named Player of the Match by Aaron for his efforts against the Royals. Kuldeep was instrumental in holding the Royals back, taking two wickets in the 17th over to remove Donovan Ferreira and R. Ashwin. Kuldeep finished with statistics of 2/25 in his quota.

“Kuldeep was simply outstanding. Because it’s so difficult to do such things in those circumstances, he was also my player of the match. We also have to commend Rishabh Pant for making the courageous decision to take the two wickets in the 17th over. You could give it to your fast bowler instead of taking the risk, but Rishabh Pant did just that and Kuldeep performed as he had stated in the post-match remarks.”
