After failing to capitalise on a fast start in the first Twenty20 International and missing out on the second match as well, Sanju Samson ensured he wouldn’t be left behind in the third and final Twenty20 International of the series.
Samson gave the Suryakumar Yadav-led team a great start after winning the toss and choosing to bat first. Taskin Ahmed’s four consecutive boundaries proved that the wicketkeeper-batter was serious about business in Hyderabad. The loss of his opening partner, Abhishek Sharma, on the opening delivery of the third over did not appear to affect the opener in any way.
It seemed like Samson had deliberately chosen to outsmart his captain, as Suryakumar performed his normal duties at the other end. Samson continued on his merry way, taking apart Rishad Hossain, the most expensive bowler for Bangladesh in the previous game, for a couple of fours and then smashing a magnificent maximum over long-off to bring up just his third half-century in his 29th T20I innings, which was by far the most scorching one. This was his 29th innings played in T20Is.
India’s steam roller Bangladesh as Sanju Samson and Suryakumar keep pushing hard
Samson quickly moved from 62 to the nineties in the game’s tenth over, totally crushing the leg-spinner for five explosive sixes. In the next over, Suryakumar himself scored fifty runs off of 23 balls.
As of this writing, Samson had scored his first T20I century with a gorgeous downhill hit. His teammates in the dugout gave him a standing ovation and the captain gave him a hearty hug, both of which were well-deserved. The power-hitting display he has given has been much appreciated by the audience.

With the middle partnership providing such a beautiful platform, India are 190/1 after 13 overs and will be looking to finish on a high note.
