In light of Rahul Dravid‘s announcement that he will not be seeking the coveted post again, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is searching for a new head coach for their senior men’s squad. For almost three years, the former captain of India has guided the Men in Blue.
After the ODI World Cup concluded last year, Dravid took over as India’s head coach for a two-year tenure that began in November 2021. To maintain squad continuity, the BCCI granted the Indore native an extension following the major tournament. But Dravid is expected to step down after the upcoming T20 World Cup, ending his second term, and the Men in Blue will be getting a new head coach.
The application deadline for the men’s team head coach position was May 27. In the next few weeks, Dravid’s replacement is anticipated to be revealed by the wealthiest cricket board in the world, which is currently reviewing the applications.

Sanjay Manjrekar, a former cricket player for India, was also questioned recently about whether he had submitted an application for the large offer. The 58-year-old genuinely acknowledged that he had never been a team coach and expressed how much he enjoyed his role as an expert who provides game commentary.
“I have never in my life coached a squad. The former cricket player turned commentator told ESPNcricinfo, “I just enjoy this job (punditry) too much.”
Andy Flower responded to Sanjay Manjrekar’s question.
Manjrekar daringly asked the same question of legendary Zimbabwean Andy Flower, who was also taking part in the conversation. Claiming he was happy with his coaching responsibilities in franchise leagues, the former England coach said he had not applied for the head coach position in India.
“Since I am content with my current positions in franchise cricket, I have not applied for the position. From a professional and personal standpoint, I believe the individual who succeeds is fortunate. It’s one of the greatest roles in cricket you could ever obtain, and the recipient will have a great honour, according to Flower.
