The Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) match between the Mumbai Indians (MI) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) is set to begin on Monday, April 1 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Rajasthan captain Sanju Samson, who won the toss and chose to bowl first, selected Wankhede’s excellent batting surface. There was a single alteration to the RR lineup as Nandre Burger had to be added in place of Sandeep Sharma because of fitness concerns.
In the opening match of the season, Sandeep Sharma played well against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), amassing 1/22 in three overs, including the significant wicket of KL Rahul. But he was costly in his second game, giving up 36 runs in four overs.
On the other hand, Nandre Burger, an impact player in the first two games, had to be selected in place of Sandeep Sharma in the starting lineup. The left-arm seamer has so far this season, taken three wickets. He scored 1/30 in three overs against LSG in the first game, while he later picked up 2/29 in three overs against the Delhi Capitals.
