Sameer Rizvi, a young batter from Uttar Pradesh, recently said that he looks up to Indian captain Rohit Sharma and regards him as his hero. At the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) auction, the 20-year-old made headlines when he was purchased by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for an incredible INR 8.40 crore.

Referencing the veteran’s performance in the 2023 ODI World Cup, he also highlighted Sharma’s capacity to score large runs at a high strike rate.
“My approach to the game is quite offensive, much like Rohit Bhaiya’s. I like to watch him bat and respect his intentions. He possesses a high strike rate; in the ODI World Cup, for example, he scored 60 runs off 40 balls, demonstrating his aggressive style of play and determination. I truly admire that about him as a player,” Rizvi remarked.
Rohit Sharma finished the 2024 T20 World Cup as the second-highest run scorer.
India defeated South Africa in a thrilling final to win their second T20I World Cup under Sharma’s captaincy. With 257 runs in eight innings at an incredible strike rate of 156.70, Sharma finished as the tournament’s second-highest run scorer, demonstrating the impact of his participation.
