The formidable hitter Shreyas Iyer was batting in the nets with his opponent, skipper Sai Kishore, ahead of Mumbai’s match against TNCA XI (Tamil Nadu Cricket Association) on the eve of the Buchi Babu Cricket Tournament 2024. Remarkably, Iyer attempted to initiate a light-hearted conversation in an attempt to obtain an advantage over the intrepid left-arm spinner.
The Mumbai-based batter’s challenge seemed to unfaze Kishore, though, and he took it a step further by accepting it with such determination. Following then, the initial bat-and-ball confrontation between the two was won by the former.
In an attempt to manipulate Kishore, Iyer claimed, “If you keep a long-off fielder from the first over, I will go over him.” According to The Hindu, Kishore shot back, “Go for it,” in a reaction full of assurance.
During the match between Buchi Babu, the captain of the TNCA XI intentionally chose not to use a traditional long-off fielder. Rather, he outwitted Iyer with a brilliant play that proved to be effective by positioning the fielder behind him in an unconventional manner on the boundary that was quite straight. As a result, Shreyas Iyer caved in to the pressure and took a full-blooded pull shot. The ball went straight down to the fielder positioned in the short midwicket area, much to his dismay. As a result, Iyer was cheaply dismissed off the bowl of Sai Kishore for just two runs.
Mumbai’s problems began when Sai Kishore used another left-arm bowler to fox Suryakumar.
Furthermore, captain of the TNCA XI Sai Kishore had set his sights on taking the important wicket of none other than Mr. 360, also known as Suryakumar Yadav, demonstrating his perfect street-smart cricketing intelligence. As he conducted his business, Yadav appeared well-groomed. He unleashed all of his unconventional cricket strokes, which ranged from inside-out strokeplay to reverse sweeps.
detecting that Sky was successfully using angles to milk runs (30 off 38 balls). The explosive Mumbai hitter had been putting runs on the board at one point, with a strike rate of 78.95. However, Sai Kishore executed a brilliant move to prevent him from taking the game away.
The left-arm bowler S. Ajith Ram, who bowled just two overs in the early stages of the match, was pulled into the attack by him. Similar to an alchemist, the improvement in bowling produced favourable outcomes. Yadav was sent back to the hut after failing to connect for the intended outcome in an attempt to hit the bowler for a boundary with his strong sweep through the mid-on area.
There are too many photos of Suryakumar. He is proficient in all sweeps, including reverse sweeps. Ajith Ram stated, “I focused on my length, and it turned out nicely.

As things stand right now, TNCA leads the match 379 runs to nothing in the first innings while Mumbai gave in to pressure and lost badly. Interestingly, even though his team had lost seven wickets in reply, Sarfaraz Khan, their captain, chose not to bat.
