The United States of America’s decision to co-host the T20 World Cup in 2024 was considered as a significant boost to the nation’s cricketing aspirations. The USA squad made headlines when they defeated Pakistan in the competition and fiercely contested the other teams. The famous Sachin Tendulkar has joined the National Cricket League, an amateur T10 league founded by an American ownership group.
Players who have signed up for the competition include Robin Uthappa, Dinesh Karthik, Shakib Al Hasan, Suresh Raina, and Shahid Afridi. The presence of these former players does increase the league’s celebrity appeal, but Wasim Akram, a former bowler for Pakistan, stated that adding Tendulkar will give it legitimacy. He also mentioned how Arun Agarwal, the NCL’s organizer of the Sixty Strikers League, suggested the idea.
“This is incredible. I was asked to participate in this competition by Arun Agarwal when we first met during the T20 World Cup. As stated by NDTV Sports, Akram remarked, “When he told me this, I wasn’t sure that such a league could be organized in such a short time, but I would like to say that he has organized the league very well.”
“Joining the league with Sachin Tendulkar will have many advantages. In the history of cricket, Sachin has been the greatest player. His entry into this league will elevate this kind of competition. This competition will gain legitimacy with Sachin’s entrance. Sachin and I are buddies, and I can’t wait to meet him. The spectators have enjoyed the intense competition we’ve had on the pitch, he continued.
Legends are connected to the League of Sixty Strikers.
Six clubs are competing for the title in this season, which started on October 4. The teams are the Dallas Lonestars CC, Los Angeles Waves CC, Atlanta Kings CC, New York Lions CC, Texas Gladiators CC, and Chicago CC.
