Ruturaj Gaikwad, the captain of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), led his team to victory in their third IPL 2024 encounter against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) with a mature knock of 67* runs off 58. He then closed the game with MS Dhoni as the hosts triumphed by seven wickets.
Ruturaj Gaikwad, who had lost Rachin Ravindra early in the innings, formed partnerships with Shivam Dube and Daryl Mitchell to push CSK close to the mark.
Ruturaj Gaikwad outstanding knock against KKR, according to former England captain Eoin Morgan, will give him a great deal of confidence and belief for the remainder of the season. Morgan believes that the fact that the opener didn’t alter his batting style despite having the upper hand for the most of the game and eventually won the match for his team will give the Maharashtra native great confidence in his ability to make decisions and will aid in his development as a leader.

“He will gain a great deal of faith and trust in his abilities after this inning. Morgan stated in a media release to JioCinema, as cited by Hindustan Times, “Playing an innings like this, early in the tournament, will give him a lot of reassurance on his decision-making and pass on a message to the team.”
We have known for a while that he is a sophisticated player, so it is wonderful to see him in such touch. The former KKR captain continued, “He had a great game, right from the toss to captaincy decisions, getting the spinners on after the powerplay, he was exceptional today.”
The victory keeps the reigning champions in fourth place in the standings. This season, they are undefeated at MA Chidambaram Stadium, although they haven’t had much luck traveling. Next up for Chennai is a matchup at Wankhede Stadium on April 14 versus their bitterest foe, the Mumbai Indians. With just one victory in their first four league games, the Hardik Pandya-led team hasn’t been able to perform well thus far.
