The five-time champion Chennai Super Kings are playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 under new management. The team is now led by emerging Indian batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad, 27, after being captained by MS Dhoni since the beginning of the competition. So far, the 27-year-old has done an excellent job leading the side. Ruturaj Gaikwad has guided CSK to four victories in seven games during his debut season as captain.
But the captain hasn’t really used the bat to get off the gears. Recently, he stepped forward to discuss the value of family and how fortunate he is to have everyone’s support. He also emphasized how crucial it is to have his family’s support when he doesn’t do well.
“You need your family’s support when you play in your community. Sometimes you don’t score or perform, and you don’t want them to put too much pressure on you or ask you why you weren’t able to play today. I don’t think they have ever expressed doubt in my ability or effort. Ruturaj Gaikwad stated in a Star Sports video, “So, I think in that sense I am really grateful that they have been supporting me right from the start.”
