Asian Latina and Royal Roma squared off in the highly anticipated ninth game of the European Cricket Series (ECS) on September 12, 2023, in Rome, Italy. Early in the play, it appeared as though Royal Roma would win, but in the closing stages, the game took a sudden turn that resulted in one of the most odd run-outs on a cricket pitch ever seen.
Assigned to bowl the final over, which was vital for Royal Roma, Umar Shahzad produced an outstanding ball that tricked Jashanpreet Singh, the batsman, and went straight to Muhammad Arif, the wicketkeeper. Singh tried a single run in a desperate attempt to tie the game. With lightning speed, Arif tossed the ball in the direction of the non-striker.

The subsequent events were nothing short of a hilarious scene involving cricket. Shahzad tried to catch the ball and move the bails when he was positioned at the bowler’s end. In a surprising turn of events, though, the ball struck Shahzad’s thigh and collided with the stumps. Consequently, the Asian Latinas’ runout enabled them to give Royal Roma a thrilling one-run victory. Everyone on the pitch was stunned by the unusual dismissal, and Shahzad, maybe more out of relief than delight, burst into a boisterous celebration.
