After the IPL auction in 2023, the Royal Challengers Bangalore will be able to strengthen their team and maintain their aspirations of winning their first Indian Premier League championship.
The team’s pace assault, which has shown recent signs of significant progress, has been given a further boost thanks to the addition of top England pacer Reece Topley.
Both England batsman Will Jacks (Rs 3.2 crore) and lanky left-arm seamer Topley (Rs 1.90 crore), who had previously troubled India in an ODI at the Lord’s, were moderately priced but solid options for the RCB.
They did express interest in a few players, but due to a lack of purse, they were unable to move forward with their pursuits. They had a residual purse value of 8.75 crore when they participated in the mini auction.
The offer placed for Jacks was the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s most expensive purchase in the Indian Premier League auction 2023. Sonu Yadav, Manoj Bhandage, and Himanshu Sharma were all acquired by the team at a price of 20 lakh each.
It is important to point out that Virat Kohli resigned as captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the conclusion of the Indian Premier League 2021. Despite this, he maintains his status as a member of the team.
This year, the team was led by their new captain, Faf du Plessis, and made it all the way to the Qualifier 2 of the Indian Premier League, where they were ultimately defeated by Rajasthan Royals.
