After winning the toss, Hardik Pandya decided to bat first and made three changes to his squad. The West Indian celebrity Romario Shepherd got dumped. When Nuwan Thushara, Piyush Chawla, and Nehal Wadhera entered the playing XI, Shreyas Gopal and Akash Madhwal were also benched for the match. The only player to enter for RR in place of Kuldeep Sen was Sandeep Sharma.
On Monday at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, the Rajasthan Royals will play host to the Mumbai Indians in a crucial IPL 2024 match. Sanju Samson and his team defeated the Kolkata Knight Riders, and as a result, they are now leading the standings.
Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, enter the match fresh off a tight victory over Punjab Kings. With half of the season remaining, the victory allowed Hardik Pandya and his squad to record their third victory of the year.
Why don’t Kuldeep Sen and Romario Shepherd play?
Romario Shepherd, who made his IPL debut against the SRH, hammered 39 off 10 against the Delhi Capitals. In the subsequent matches, the 29-year-old managed just two runs in three games and did not claim any wickets while using the ball.
Regarding Shreyas Gopal, the 30-year-old was observed during the most recent match versus PBKS with a bandaged hand. Piyush Chawla was given a game since the Mumbai Indians team management didn’t want to take a chance because it was a fitness concern.
The last four games have seen Akash Madhwal struggle to move the ball properly. In the previous match, Ashutosh Sharma and Harpreet Brar hammered the right-arm pacer all over the field.
Sandeep Sharma was chosen by the Rajasthan Royals to replace Kuldeep Sen because of his skill with the new ball. For the Royals in IPL season, the seasoned seamer has also been among the top death-overs bowlers.
