Many Indian batsmen, especially Rohit Sharma, would have been salivating to get some runs in what was considered to be a pivotal series against a purportedly exhausted New Zealand, who were coming off a landslide victory against Sri Lanka. However, Rohit has not had an easy ride as the home Test season draws to a close.

With the difficult Border-Gavaskar Trophy starting in November, Rohit needs to establish his bearings quickly, which is what he would like to achieve when India plays the second innings of the Wankhede Test.
