A lavish celebration on the home front ensued after the victory, with the Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and the jubilant supporters at Marine Drive in Mumbai joining the felicitation party in New Delhi and Mumbai, respectively.
The famous cricket player has left the nation due to a busy schedule and is currently in London, England, to watch the semi-finals of the popular Lawn Tennis game, Wimbledon. Pictures from the event have gone viral on social media, and Rohit’s attendance at the contest between popular aces Daniil Medvedev and Carlos Alcaraz has drawn a lot of attention.
Using social media, Wimbledon’s official account welcomed the well-known cricket player and announced his presence at the sport’s premier tournament. They wrote, “Welcome to #Wimbledon, Rohit Sharma,” as the caption for a photo they shared on X, the previous Twitter platform.

Recently, another Mumbai cricketer Sachin Tendulkar also went to attend a Wimbledon game in the ongoing competition. English cricketers Jos Buttler, Joe Root, and Ben Stokes also marked his presence alongside Tendulkar for a game.
The popular tennis event is held annually in the London City, and is among the biggest tournaments in the history of the sport. It is also the oldest tournament in Lawn Tennis history, after its inaugural edition in 1877.
