The seasoned Indian batting duo of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have established themselves as legendary figures in the sport. After helping India win the 2024 T20 World Cup in the USA and the West Indies, both batters recently announced their retirement from Twenty20 International cricket. As their careers approached the end, veteran India cricketer Dinesh Karthik stepped up to suggest four possible successors for Rohit and Kohli.
The Men in Blue’s future lineup will feature players such as Yashasvi Jaiswal, Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, and Ruturaj Gaikwad in place of the two great batters, according to Karthik.
“I think there are currently four options in the starting XI, but they (Rohit Sharma and Kohli) are very difficult to replace.
Shubman Gill, Tilak Varma, Abhishek Sharma, and Ruturaj Gaikwad are present. In T20I cricket, I believe Yashasvi Jaiswal would undoubtedly start in the XI, Dinesh Karthik was cited by India Today as saying.
For their forthcoming tour to Sri Lanka, India’s vice captain for both ODIs and T20Is will be Shubman Gill.
