Several emotions surfaced after India’s victory in the T20 World Cup in Barbados. With the Men in Blue winning the World Cup, three T20I cricket veterans—Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja—announced their retirements, making it an emotional day for all Indian fans.
After Rohit Sharma’s announcement, Ritika Sajdeh, the skipper’s wife, shared an emotional message on Instagram honouring Rohit and his achievements. The captain led India to victory in the T20 World Cup by leading them to an undefeated streak.
Following Rohit’s announcement of his retirement, Ritika Sajdeh expressed her pride in Rohit’s T20I career and the emotional and inspirational experience of watching the captain live out his ambition. She further acknowledged that although it was difficult to see, Rohit decided to go while keeping the team in mind.
“I understand how important this is to you, Ro. This format, this cup, these men, this adventure, this whole process of realising your lifelong desire. I am aware of how difficult the past several months have been for you. Watching you realise your ambition was very emotional and motivating. I understand the toll it’s taken on your heart, mind, and body,” Sajdeh said as the caption for the photo.

“I adore your game and I’m sad to see you leave any part of it behind, but as your wife, I am incredibly proud of what you’ve accomplished and the impact you’ve had on the players and this game itself. It’s difficult to watch you go from that aspect of it, even though I know you’ve given it a lot of thought in terms of what’s best for this team. I am extremely grateful to have you as my own and I love you so much.” She went on.
