Turned out to be a thriller, the third Twenty20 International between India and Sri Lanka was a dead rubber since India went into the match with a series win. Even though it was Sri Lanka’s third collapse in as many games, they still cleared all the obstacles and required just nine runs in twelve balls. Suryakumar Yadav gave the ball to Rinku Singh to bowl the penultimate over when Mohammed Siraj and Khaleel Ahmed had one over remaining each. Head coach Gautam Gambhir smiled merrily as he struck on the second delivery.
Before well-set Kusal Perera was bowled out by Rinku Singh spin, Sri Lanka still had six wickets in hand. Later, in the penultimate over, the southpaw dismissed Ramesh Mendis with the last ball after giving up just three runs. The young player’s battle with the ball appeared to be enjoyable for Gambhir, who was positioned in the dugout.
Here’s the video of Gambhir’s reaction:

I have observed these types of games: Kumar Suryakumar
The Indian team turned the tables by needing six runs from the final over as Suryakumar prepared to throw his arm over, after Rinku gave up just three runs in the 19th over. On the second ball, the skipper of India forced Kamindu Mendis to hole out to third man, and on the next delivery, he chose Maheesh Theekshana. Asitha Fernando fielded the fourth ball to prevent him from making a hat trick. Ultimately, a Super Over was played, and with to Washington Sundar’s two-ball, the Lankan Lions could only muster two runs. To completely destroy the Lankans in their den, India pursued the three-run target.

“I informed them, ‘I have seen such kind of games,’ as we were heading in for the fielding practice. We can succeed if we put in a full hour and a half of effort. After the game, Suryakumar said, “If you are enjoying hitting 200–220s and winning games, you should enjoy 30/4 and 70/5 as well because that creates balance in your life and that’s how you move on and just be humble.
