Rinku Singh is a genuine talent and a pocket rocket: Jeremy Roy

Jason Roy, a batsman for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), praised Rinku Singh highly for his excellent performance against the Gujarat Titans. For those who are unaware, Rinku made history when he hit five consecutive sixes to single-handedly defeat the Titans for his team.

The Nitish Rana-led team had a fantastic performance against GT, but they lost their next match to Sunrisers Hyderabad. Kolkata will consequently be eager to defeat Mumbai and return to winning ways.

Jason Roy praised partner Rinku for his explosive batting prowess prior to their encounter against the Mumbai Indians at the storied Wankhede Stadium.

“He’s a pocket rocket, Rinku Singh; I didn’t see that coming” (kick to GT). He is a tremendous talent and slams the ball into the net, Jason Roy said in an interview prior to the game.

My form is strong; perhaps I can play soon. Jeremy Roy
Regarding the matchup between MI and KKR, the visiting club elected to field Rahmanullah Gurbaz as the opener in place of Jason Roy. The decision was made notwithstanding the English batter’s 32-year-old record-breaking unbeaten 145-run (off 63-ball) innings in the just finished Pakistan Super League (PSL).

He also scored 132 runs for England against Bangladesh in the second ODI in March. Roy expects to play for KKR and make an immediate impact for the team with his present form.

“We played well (against SRH), scoring 200, so everyone in the batting unit is fired up and confident. Today’s away game is a big one for us. There are lots of travel days and only training. Jason Roy stated, “I want to make the most of this journey possible.

“I’ve had a great start to this year; I really enjoy playing cricket. Really pleased with where I’ve gotten to; my form is strong, my hundreds have been excellent, and perhaps I’ll play soon. I have wonderful memories of playing here during the World Cup, and we defeated Mumbai when Delhi (Capitals) came to play,” he continued.

Gurbaz’s most recent performance against Mumbai saw him post unimpressive scores of 15, 0, and 8 runs; as a result, KKR may decide to start Roy in their upcoming match against the Delhi Capitals.
