Recently, former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra spoke out over the range of seamers selected for their various teams in the Duleep Trophy. Chopra noted that everyone else was given an opportunity to play for the Duleep Trophy, except for legendary Indian pacer Umesh Yadav.
When looking at the squads, Aakash Chopra saw that players like Umesh Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal were left out, while Arshdeep Singh was chosen to get him ready for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The competition is scheduled to start on September 5.
“Every fast bowler that is available in India has been chosen. Naturally, Mohammed Shami isn’t a member of these squads. Playing too are Axar (Patel) and Jadeja (Ravindra). Umran Malik has my utmost happiness. In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra stated, “I feel like they are considering whether Arshdeep Singh can be ready for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.”
“Every fast bowler in India has been tested, with the exception of Umesh Yadav, as it is unknown whether Mohammed Shami is fit and available at this time. Yuzi (Yuzvendra) Chahal isn’t depicted in this either. The former India opener continued, “So it appears that some things are developing in a particular way.”
I’ve only heard positive things about him: Morne Morkel with Aakash Chopra
Aakash Chopra also discussed Morne Morkel’s selection as India’s new head coach, a former cricket player for the Proteas. He disclosed that he expects Morkel to have a strong performance. “This team will now have Morne Morkel as their bowling coach. In Lucknow (Super Giants), he was with Gautam Gambhir, and he liked him.

Had he wanted him, he would have told the BCCI. The Lucknow camp has told me nothing but positive things about him. I have personally found him to be a really gentle, soft-spoken individual based on our interactions,” he remarked.
