After two years in Dhaka, Taskin Ahmed will be joining Durbar Rajshahi for the forthcoming Bangladesh Premier League, which is scheduled to start on December 27. Taskin was notably Rajshahi’s first selection in the Players’ Draft, which was held in the nation’s capital on October 14.
At an average of 21.87, Taskin has taken 102 wickets in 78 BPL games. In the last Twenty20 International series in India, when Bangladesh lost 0–3 in a clean sweep, he struggled despite being a firecracker in white-ball cricket.
For someone like Taskin, the 2017 BPL is crucial because he hopes to impress the team management and make it into Bangladesh’s Champions Trophy squad. In addition to Taskin, Rajshahi recruited Yasir Ali, who has scored 128 runs at a strike rate of 142.22 in 11 Twenty20 Internationals for Bangladesh. Last season, he played for Sylhet, where he only managed 58 runs in five games. Along with six other players, Rajshahi also signed Jishan Alam, Sabbir Hossain, Saad Nasim, and Akbar Ali.
Conversely, Reece Topley, an England international, was signed by Sylhet Strikers for the upcoming campaign.
Considering that the pacer can resolve their death-related problems, it is a huge signing. The 30-year-old has taken 33 wickets at an average of 28.84 in 34 Twenty20 Internationals for the national squad. Notably, he is currently going through a difficult time because he did not perform well in the Australia series or The Hundred.
Mahmudullah and Nandre Burger are barishal signs.
In the players’ draft, Barishal made some very important acquisitions. In addition to Sri Lankan international Pathum Nissanka and Bangladesh captain Najmul Shanto, they also recruited Mahmudullah Riyad, an all-rounder who just declared his retirement from Twenty20 international cricket. In the middle and last overs, he will be useful to the squad.

Nandre Burger, a South African international, has helped the team with its pace bowling issues. The 29-year-old picked up seven wickets in six games for the Rajasthan Royals during the most recent Indian Premier League season.
