The 60th match of the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) was between the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium in Jaipur. Faf du Plessis, the captain of RCB, won the toss and chose to bat first. Du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell both got 50s to help RCB set a score of 172 runs for the home team to beat.
During the chase, RR’s batsmen had trouble, and they were only able to score 59 runs in 10.3 overs. Wayne Parnell took three wickets, Michael Bracewell and Karn Sharma each took two, and Mohammed Siraj and Glenn Maxwell each took one.
Before the game, RCB head coach Sanjay Bangar said that his team is having trouble because they don’t have enough players
. This is why they haven’t done well in the 2023 IPL. The former Indian player said that the team has been losing every game by 10-15 runs because there aren’t enough big hitters in the middle order.
“Well, it’s true that we were missing in some ways. We’re 10-15 runs short with the bat, and we’re falling short because we don’t have enough depth and powerful hits. We’ve taken care of that, though. “Today, we want to make that right and score more goals,” Sanjay Bangar told Star Sports before the game.
We have also lost on the bowling team because we haven’t been able to protect big totals like we used to: Sanjay Bangar
The coach then talked to the bowling section of the team and told them that they were not doing as well as they had at the start of the event. Notably, RCB chose to play New Zealand all-rounder Michael Bracewell against RR instead of all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga.
“Yes, even with the ball. During the first part of the tournament, we did a good job of defense and kept scores between 170 and 180. We have also lost on the bowling team because we can’t protect big totals like we used to. So, these are the two things we want to get better at: death hitting and bowling as a whole,” Sanjay Bangar said.
