When Sanju Samson was nominated to India’s T20I and ODI squads for the tour of New Zealand, the supporters of the star cricketer believed that this was going to be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the player.
However, the wicketkeeper who could also bat did not earn a spot in the playing eleven for the Twenty20 International series. On many social media platforms, followers of Samson voiced their disappointment that he was not given a chance to participate in the T20I series.
Now, India is going strong. Ravichandran Ashwin has shared his thoughts on the topic of Samson being denied opportunities.
“Because of his (Sanju Samson’s) talent, he will undoubtedly become a trend if he does not participate in the game. I want Sanju Samson to have access to every possible opportunity.
I even went so far as to say that I can’t wait to see him perform live because he is in such phenomenal shape right now and is giving a performance that is truly outstanding “According to what Ashwin said on his channel on YouTube,
The seasoned player also commented on how well Hardik Pandya, India’s captain for the Twenty20 International series against New Zealand, dealt with the question of Samson’s selection. He said that Pandya did a good job.
“According to Hardik Pandya, they weren’t able to play Samson because they decided to go with a different batting combination, despite the fact that Samson being a very entertaining player to watch. In point of fact, members of the press inquired as to the reason he was not cast as Sanju Samson.
Hardik Pandya responded in a manner similar to that of Thala A Dhoni. He stated that the door to my room would always be open, and that any gamer would be welcome to walk in and talk to me. It was incredibly encouraging to witness someone talk with such precision as he did.
In point of fact, I’m not sure if he meant to say that in a manner similar to that of Thala Dhoni, given that it’s common knowledge that Hardik is particularly close to Thala Dhoni. And previously he has stated that he had gained a great deal of knowledge from Thala Dhoni.
He did an excellent job of dealing with a challenging subject that is always popular on social media. So thanks to Hardik, “Ashwin said.
Following their tour of New Zealand, India will go to Bangladesh for two Tests and three One-Day Internationals.
