The game’s shortest format has seen the rise of young talent Ravi Bishnoi. With a brilliant record in Twenty20 international cricket, Ravi Bishnoi even took the lead in wicket-taking, taking nine in five matches during the just-completed five-match series against Australia. The 23-year-old rose up the ranks to take the top spot as the T20I cricket bowler as a result of the same.
Prior to his upcoming test in South Africa, Bishnoi said he never saw himself as the world’s best bowler. The leg-spinner continued, saying, “It’s an unbelievable feeling,” and he wants to keep the momentum going to help the team win.
It’s an incredible sensation. I never imagined myself to be the best bowler in the world. In an Instagram video posted by the Indian Cricket Team, Bishnoi stated, “Now that I’m here, I’m feeling good about it and I hope to continue performing for the team and helping the team win.”

I am now loving my journey. Ravi Bishnoi
Bishnoi reflected on his experience playing international cricket thus far, remembering the bright days when he was a major contributor to India’s 2023 Asian Games gold medal victory. The cricketer from Rajasthan said that his brief career had many highs and lows, but for now he is content with his current state of play.
“My path has had its ups and downs, but the last one to one and a half years have been fantastic since I got to play some good games and played in the Asia Cup and Asian Games as well. I made my debut on February 15th. In the future, I expect to have more possibilities. I’ve been working hard for the past five or six years, and it shows in my performances. But for now, I’m loving the trip,” Bishnoi said.
Notably, Bishnoi currently plays a crucial role for the national team. The leg-spinner is essentially guaranteed to play in the 2019 T20 World Cup, but he must be cautious because there are many excellent spinners to choose from. Since Yuzvendra Chahal also wants to rejoin the T20I team, Bishnoi will need to play with a great deal of consistency over the next several months.
