Veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin played a huge role in India’s commanding 280-run victory over Bangladesh in the first Test at Chennai.
The off-spinner, who was born in Chennai, had just pulled off an incredible double in the same Test match—scoring a century and claiming six wickets. It was his second straight double at Chepauk, his home field, and his fourth overall. Prithi, Ashwin’s spouse, and their two girls expressed excitement over celebrating with the cricket player and discussing his performance and bond with the Chennai ground.
“It seems wonderful every time I visit this place. I’m not sure if this ground contains any energy. Anything that stimulates me. She was often whining about not seeing her on the first day. I didn’t. They’re not visible to me. I find that it’s quite challenging to watch out for the family when you’re playing a game. However, I do try my best because the kids usually ask me why I didn’t say hello,” he stated in a BCCI video.
Ravi Ashwin shared a special moment with his wife and two daughters, after the match
The cricketer’s family has expressed dissatisfaction about the spinner’s lack of attention to them in the crowd. However, Ashwin said that although his attention is on the game, he tries to wave back at his girls whenever he gets the chance.
