Since Ramiz Raja was ousted from his position as head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), a number of active and retired players from the country have spoken out against him.
After being fired, Ramiz, too, has been vociferous against the changes that have been made in the PCB management. In a recent interview that he gave on Suno TV, Ramiz discussed a variety of topics and called out his detractors for using profanity in their criticisms of him.
During the time when Ramiz was in charge of Pakistan’s white-ball cricket team, he believed that the team’s performances were “excellent.”
In addition to this, Ramiz went on to assert that Pakistan was the one responsible for pressuring India to make adjustments to their cricketing infrastructure.
“During the white-ball portion of the cricket match, we played exceptionally well. We competed in the Asia Cup final, whereas India was absent from that competition. India, an industry worth a billion dollars, was left in the dust.
Tod phod hui, unhone apna chief selector, selection committee fire kar di, captain badal diye kyunki unko hazam nahi hua ki Pakistan unse kaise aage nikal gaya.
(Because they were unable to process the fact that Pakistan was getting ahead of them, they removed their chief selector, selection committee, and changed the captain.) “During a conversation on Suno TV, Ramiz made the following statement.
During Ramiz’s tenure as captain, Pakistan achieved its first victory over India in a World Cup competition. In 2021, during a group match for the Twenty20 World Cup, Pakistan defeated India by a score of ten wickets to one.
They advanced to the semifinals, when they were eliminated by Australia, who went on to win the tournament.
Pakistan played in the final of both the T20 World Cup and the Asia Cup in 2022, the latter of which they won against Sri Lanka (vs England). Despite this, they came out on the wrong side of the outcome on both instances.
