Since Ramiz Raja was removed from his position as chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), a number of influential individuals in the cricket community in Pakistan have come out against him.
Mohammad Amir, a fast bowler for Pakistan, is one of the players who has been critical of Ramiz for a considerable amount of time now.
In October, he was quoted as saying, “I think it’s time to get rid of the so-called PCB chairman who thinks he is the god, as well as the so-called chief selector.” He was referring to the chairman of the PCB, who believed he was god.
Notably, Amir decided to end his career on the world stage in 2020, citing the “shabby” treatment he claimed to have received from the management at the time as the reason.
When Ramiz Raja, a former chairman of the PCB, was questioned about the treatment of Amir, a player who had previously been suspended for five years for match-fixing, he made a cryptic reference to the player’s checkered history.
“Unfortuitously, I played during a period in which there were an excessive number of controversies. Tolerating the fact that nine players are competing for a win while two players are competing for a loss is something I simply cannot do. There is a feeling of having been betrayed.
If it had been the first time it had happened, you might have been able to say something like, “Okay, this is the first case; let’s go on.”
On the other hand, we have events like this one every three to four years here. To what extent are you capable of forgiving them?” Raja stated on Samaa TV.
When the newsreader announced that, “I asked Ramiz, “So, you wanted to make an example out of Mohammad Amir?” and he responded, “Not Amir, but…” Tainted athletes are everywhere, and that’s why I don’t have any romantic feelings for them. I don’t have any affection for tainted players.”
Recently, Pakistani pacer Wahab Riaz dropped a hint that Amir would make a comeback in the team’s lineup.
In an interview with Samaa News, Wahab was reported by Cricket Pakistan as saying that there is a possibility that Mohammad Amir would return to play for Pakistan at some point in the future.
Amir has also spoken out about the rumours surrounding his upcoming comeback. “In the event that Allah wills it, I will compete for Pakistan once again. However, my goals for the PSL are to be a good player and perform well “Amir revealed this information to the reporters present at the National High-Performance Centre (NHPC) in Lahore.
