After T20 World Cup success, Rahul Dravid said, ‘My duty is to help the captain fulfil his vision

Rahul Dravid became India’s senior men’s team coach in 2021 after leading the Under 19 squad to the 2018 World Cup. India lost to England in the T20 World Cup 2022 semifinal, World Test Championship 2023 Final, and World Cup 2023 Final under him. Rahul Dravid had a lot on his shoulders before India’s T20 World Cup 2024.

The veteran wanted an ICC Trophy as India’s coach after never winning one as a player. He sighs with happiness as India won the T20 World Cup 2024, ending an 11-year ICC title drought. The ex-India captain said his coaching handbook is based on the captain’s vision and philosophy.

I coach to help the captain implement his vision and philosophy for the team. No, I don’t like discussing results. Yes, results matter. I run a results-driven business, Dravid told News18.

“I believe coaching goes beyond cricket. This is about connecting with people and establishing a successful workplace. I believe I am part of the team that creates a professional, safe, and secure atmosphere that doesn’t fear failure but challenges individuals. I’ve always tried to create that atmosphere, he said.
