According to a former Pakistani cricket player, Indian all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin is not given the credit he deserves. Raja mentioned the qualities he liked about R Ashwin, the all-round player, and also highlighted Ashwin’s cricketing intelligence, which is evident in both his on-field and off-field approaches to the game.
“As an all-around player, Ashwin has not received the recognition he deserves. His record shows that he is on par with everyone. He is a straightforward cricket player who accepts everything with grace. There are never any tantrums, not even when he is the team’s 12th man or not on it. In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Raja said, “He understands the situation the team is in and his responsibility.”
“Although he doesn’t seem to critically analyse anything off the field, he is outspoken. His observations demonstrate his astute understanding of the game,” he continued.
Recently, R Ashwin tied a record set by Muralitharan in Test cricket.
In the just finished Test series against Bangladesh, the outstanding all-round player was crucial. After an outstanding effort with the bat and ball in the two matches in Chennai and Kanpur, where he scored 114 runs and claimed 11 wickets, the 38-year-old was named Player of the Series. Ashwin received his eleventh award in Test cricket.

Although playing 19 more series than Ashwin, the former superstar from Sri Lanka, Muttiah Muralitharan, has the same number of Player of the Series awards to his name. During India’s three-match Test series against New Zealand at home, Ashwin will have the opportunity to add yet another gem to his collection.
