The ninth Pakistan Super League (PSL) draft roster was released, and it featured an outstanding group of 254 hungry international cricket players. Foreign players eager to participate in the competition have shown a sharp increase in interest, according to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). While there was a wide variety of cricketers from different countries on the list, there were notable absences from it, including some well-known Australian players.
Twenty of the registrants were platinum players, with English cricketers making up a sizable portion of this group. Pakistan Super League 9’s official draft is scheduled to take place in Lahore on December 13. Prior to PSL 2024 starting, five teams have decided to hold onto eight players apiece. Peshawar Zalmi is unique in that it is the only team with seven players left.
A number of well-known athletes, including Sikandar Raza, Colin Munro, James Vince, Hazratullah Zazai, Shakib Al Hasan, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Alex Hales, and Colin Munro, have already committed to taking part in the PSL 9 draft.
The PSL draft system differs from the IPL’s.
The National Cricket Academy in Lahore will host the PSL 9 draft. The tournament’s approximate dates are February 8–March 24, 2024. The Quetta Gladiators get the first pick in the Player Draft, which is arranged in accordance with the standings from the previous season. The PSL draft method is designed to comprise five categories: Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver, and Emerging, in contrast to the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction.
Teams must have between 16 and 20 players in their squads, with a minimum of four Pakistani players and four foreign players. Overall, as teams get ready to form their squads while adhering to the tournament’s unique drafting structure, the PSL 9 draft looks to feature an exciting and wide array of talent.
