One of the top spinners in the white-ball versions of contemporary cricket is Adam Zampa. He intends to showcase his abilities in the Test arena, nevertheless.
Since 2017, Zampa has only participated in six first-class matches. Only two red-ball matches with the leg-spinner have taken place in the previous five years. His hectic schedule in white-ball cricket is the main cause of his absence from the red-ball sport. In addition to representing Australia in 99 ODIs and 87 T20Is, Zampa plays in a number of international franchise T20 competitions. He hasn’t yet gotten his first Test cap, though.
Adam Zampa has already expressed his regret at missing the India Test series of last year, despite being informed that he was a candidate for selection.
Ultimately, Mitchell Swepson of Queensland was chosen by the selectors. “Realistically, I think I still have a chance to play Test cricket,” he stated in an interview with the Final Word podcast. “I think I would be great and do pretty well if I were playing a lot of shield cricket at this point with the way I bowl. Zampa said on the Final Word podcast, “The few games I have played in the last couple of years are suggestive of that.”
In Test cricket, Australia’s best spinner is Nathan Lyon. It is rare that the Men in Yellow field two spinners when playing at home. They do, however, have a two-match Test series against Sri Lanka set for early in the upcoming year. If Zampa is chosen, he might play a part on the tour. The 32-year-old will have an opportunity to make an impression on the selectors during the Sheffield Shield, which will take place before Pakistan visits for ODIs and T20Is in November. The Shellharbour native, who has a pitiful first-class cricket average of 46.98, is optimistic about his chances of making the Sri Lankan tour.

“Even if I do get picked in the upcoming subcontinent tours, people will say, well his record is averaging 46 with the ball, it’s not good enough, people will say that I’m sure, but if I do get picked I’ll know that the way I feel like I’m bowling, it’ll be fine,” Zampa stated.
