Ramiz Raja, the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board, has insisted that his team will not participate in the ICC One-Day International World Cup in India if the Indian cricket team does not participate in the Asia Cup, which will be held in Pakistan the following year. The Asia Cup is scheduled to take place in 2019.
It is important to note that the ODI World Cup in 2019 will take place after the Asia Cup in 2023. Ramiz Raja brought attention to the fact that Pakistan has been playing high-caliber cricket for the previous two years, as well as the country’s two victories over India (T20 World Cup 2021 and Asia Cup 2022).
In the event that India does not make the decision to attend the Asia Cup in Pakistan, according to Ramiz, the PCB will maintain its stance on the topic.
“We have a very straightforward attitude, which is that if they (the Indian squad) come, then we will go to the World Cup, but if they don’t come, then they should do it themselves. Let them compete without taking into into Pakistan.
Who will watch the World Cup if Pakistan does not compete in the tournament that is slated to take place in India the following year? We will take a more aggressive stance, our squad is performing well, we have triumphed over the cricket team with the most revenue-generating potential in the world, and we have competed in the final of the Twenty20 World Cup.
I have always said that we need to strengthen the economy of Pakistan cricket, and the only way that will happen is if our team performs well. Fortunately, we were able to accomplish this goal in the 2021 World Twenty20.
We defeated India in the Asia Cup, and the Pakistan cricket team has now triumphed over the country with the billion-dollar GDP twice in a single calendar year “Urdu News cited what Ramiz Raja had to say about the matter.
Notably, Pakistan did not play host to a gathering of participants from more than one countries since 2009. (Asia Cup).
After a terrorist attack in 2009 on the Sri Lanka squad that took place outside of the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, teams from all over the world decided to cease touring the country.
In 2015, Pakistan hosted Zimbabwe for a one-day international (ODI) series, which marked the country’s comeback to the international cricket scene.
In 2017, Sri Lanka also provided assistance to Pakistan by way of a one-match One-Day International (ODI) tour.
Since then, a number of teams, including one from Australia that travelled there earlier this year, have visited Pakistan.
Beginning on December 1, England will be in Pakistan to compete in three Test matches within the following month.
