Veteran batter-wickekeeper Dinesh Karthik stated that he is committed to getting a ticket to the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup, which will take place in the USA and the West Indies starting in June. Notably, in the current IPL 2024, Karthik has been one of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)’s reliable batters. He has amassed 226 runs thus far, which is the third-highest total for the RCB, with an astounding 205.45 strike rate and 75.33 average.
Speaking prior to the Royal Challenge of Bengal (RCB) versus Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens on April 21, Karthik stated how excited he is to represent India in the T20 world cup at this point in his career. Additionally, he expressed his strong optimism that Ajit Agarkar, Rohit Sharma, and Rahul Dravid will assemble the best team possible for the eagerly awaited competition. He went on to reiterate that he was prepared for the competition and that he would do so if given the opportunity.
“Representing India in the upcoming T-20 World Cup would be the greatest feeling for me at this point in my life.” I can’t wait to do that.
On the day of RCB’s match, Dinesh Karthik declared, “There is nothing bigger in my life than representing India in this T-20 World Cup.”
In addition, I think that the three individuals in charge of selecting the Indian team for the World Cup are incredibly trustworthy and reliable. Ajit Agarkar, Rohit Sharma, and Rahul Dravid. And I agree with them entirely. I honor any choice they make. But I’m ready, that’s all I have to say. The 38-year-old continued, “And you know I’ll do everything I can to be on that flight to the World Cup.”
For those who are unaware, Karthik had made suggestions before the competition that he would retire from international cricket after IPL 2024. Notably, he has gained a lot of power from his performance throughout the last three IPL seasons. His prior debut for the national team came from his persuasive advocacy for the position of a finisher, which secured him a spot in the 2022 T20 World Cup roster.
