Paul Collingwood praises 'rockstar' Hardik Pandya, saying, "He's given me the biggest headache as England coach."

Paul Collingwood, the captain of the 2010 T20 World Cup-winning England team and a former all-rounder, lavished accolades on Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya for his outstanding leadership abilities. In the ongoing IPL 2023, Titans have participated in five matches, winning three and losing two.

Impressively, Gujarat won their first IPL championship in 2022 under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya, who also captained his team to victory. The captain has yet to contribute significantly with the bat for his team, despite enjoying a successful season in the previous season. Despite this, Paul Collingwood, a former England captain, complimented the batsman from Gujarat for his leadership qualities and said that he is a game-changer.

“Hardik Pandya is one of the most exciting players and a rock star. From the front, he takes the lead. As England’s head coach, he caused me the most trouble when we faced India. He poses a threat to any opposition since he has the ability to alter the course of a game, according to Collingwood on Star Sports.

Hardik had a record of poor performances in his four appearances in the current season, totaling just 49 runs thus far. He scored 8, 5, and 8 runs in each of his first three games before showing signs of improvement in his most recent game against the Rajasthan Royals by scoring 28 runs.

Inconsistency of Gujarat Titans in IPL 2023
Regarding Gujarat’s current season, Hardik Pandya and company won their first two games in a row. The Titans, however, had two losses and one win in their previous three games, placing them in fourth position with six points in the IPL points table.

The IPL 2022 runners-up, Rajasthan Royals, defeated the defending champions by three wickets in their most recent match. Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans will need to boost the ante and get back to winning ways in order to move up the points table as the games are coming thick and fast.
