Pat Cummins, the captain of Australia, has expressed his conviction that January 26 is an unsuitable date for commemorating Australia Day. Indigenous cricketers Scott Boland and Ash Gardner had concerns with playing on this particular date. Their input played a role in Cricket Australia’s decision, which was informed by information from its Indigenous advisory board, NATSICAC, during the scheduling and planning of commemorations.
