After the T20 World Cup 2024, Paras Mhambrey, the former bowling coach of Team India, stepped down from his role with the Men in Blue. Paras Mhambrey joined head coach Rahul Dravid’s coaching staff in November 2021 and has oversaw the development of multiple players under his tutelage.
Prominent spinner Kuldeep Yadav has been one such player. Kuldeep, 29, was not in the Indian team when Mhambrey arrived, but he was able to rejoin the team with the help of Mhambrey and his own talent and determination.
Speaking of his progress, Paras Mhambrey raised his hand to explain how difficult it was to bring Kuldeep back into the team and how it was clear that the player was not satisfied with the outcome at the time.
“I recall the discussion we had when travelling to Sri Lanka throughout the pandemic. When some of the others were in England in 2021, we went there as support staff. Kuldeep was not part of the Indian team, although he was still active. He took some time off from the Indian circuit. We had a brief talk about technical matters, as I recall. You could identify to him not being satisfied with the outcome and understand what he was trying to accomplish by standing in the nets, Paras Mhambrey told the Hindu.
We talked about a few technical things that could improve his arm rotation, let him to go slower, and ensure that he hits the target length accurately. That’s actually where it all began. The process simply goes more smoothly after you accomplish that and you both get that confidence in one another,” he continued.

Since Mhambrey was appointed bowling coach three years ago, Kuldeep Yadav has emerged as one of the most crucial members of the men in blue’s roster. The talented spinner regained his spot back in the starting lineup for India by performing admirably for his team during the T20 World Cup in 2024.
