The team, which includes veterans like Riahabh Pant Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah, will be captained by Rohit Sharma. Rishabh Pant is playing in a Test match for the first time since returning to competitive cricket earlier this year.
In the previously mentioned Duleep Trophy match, Bengal seamer Akash Deep—who made his debut against England earlier this year—picked up nine wickets and rightfully kept his spot. After being forced to withdraw from the domestic red-ball competition owing to sickness, Mohammed Siraj made a full recovery and will now share new ball duties with Bumrah when they play Bangladesh.
