The third and final Test of Pakistan current series against Australia is scheduled to begin soon. The Shan Masood-led team, having already lost the series, will be hoping for a better showing in the next match and a consolation victory after losing the previous two Tests.
Interestingly, team director Mohammad Hafeez was told before the third Test of the series that he had missed the trip to Sydney for the final Test. The third test of the series is slated to begin on Wednesday.
Hafeez missed his flight at the airport, according to the report from Geo News. He was traveling with his wife and was supposed to fly to Sydney with the squad. A few hours after the event, Hafeez and his wife boarded a different aircraft to Sydney.

Speaking of the current series, Australia, the hosts, dominated Pakistan in the first two Test matches and has already won the three-game match. Australia was able to control the game and win it by 360 runs on December 14 in Perth, where the first Test of the series was played.
After that, the second Test of the series was played at Melbourne’s famous MCG field starting on December 26. Australia won the second Test by 79 runs and the series thanks to a masterclass from captain Pat Cummins, who claimed 10 wickets in two innings.
Both teams will see the third and final Test of the series as a consolation match, with Pakistan hoping to save their reputation following their stunning defeats in the first two Tests. The Sydney Cricket Ground will host the third Test of the series on January 3.
